There have been several violent crimes in my neighborhood lately, including a police chase through my backyard (!), a shooting, and a stabbing. You can read about it here Ditmas Park Blog
Several people in this recently-gentrified neighborhood and on the blog are quick to say that “suspicious” (let’s be honest: they mean “Black”) people are responsible, but at my job we have insider information about this situation.

Oh, right! The story of these would have been helpful. On Thursday I arrived at work and the woman who cleans Sycamore had made this adorable snowman in the back yard! I was so delighted by it that we took photos and I sent one to the Ditmas Park blog. Well, then all the stabbings happened and comments were posted about “suspicious characters” who the readers “hadn’t seen in the neighborhood before”. My boss and I then rememberd our snowman was a suspicous character that no one had seen before. So we decided to pin the crimes on “Sycamore Snowman” and hoped the neighborhood would calm down.
This is hilarious! Sometimes folks need a false character to cool off.
